Initially I was planning on getting it for my kitchen, but it was too big for the kitchen eating area. Hubby really assured me of that when we were looking at it, never the less, It came home with me.
The only way to make the table work was in the dining room.
I had a very formal dining room with very traditional furniture. I liked it and I had great memories in that dining room. But deep down, my heart was screaming to let it go and to go for what I really love. I sold my set in another Facebook yard sale and I started redecorating the dining room.
I used Miss Mustard Seed and Peeking Thru the Sunflowers (photo on the right) dining room as my inspiration.
This is how it looked before
I painted the walls in a light creamy color. Actually it was pretty much the same color than before I painted it in green. It's Aria Ivory by Sherwin Williams.
And here is the result:
I'm still looking for a couple of chairs for each end of the table.
I found this dresser at Savers long time ago. I painted it and stained it to achieve the antique look.
I'm a little obsessed with linens, so I have tons and tons of table cloths and napkins. These drawers came in very handy to storage them!
Most of my silver came from my home in Spain. Good thing my mom is kind of done with stuff. So I always load my suitcase when I visit!! Thanks mom!! :)
I got the jute area rug at Joss & Main, the hutch at a yard sale, I did painted it, you can see the before and after HERE and the chairs at Marshalls.
The ironstone dishes and the antlers are finds from Brimfield Antique Show.
XOXO
