Dining Room Chairs

When I redecorated my dining room I got six chairs to go around the table, but I wanted a couple of different chairs for each end of the table. I usually have to wait to get what I want or need until I find something unique that speaks to me.
So in the meantime I placed a couple of chairs that I already had at each end of the dining room table.
It's being looking like this for about a year.

I was browsing around, not looking for anything in particular when I found a couple of chairs that could work. Hmmm they are not what I had in mind, but at $10 for both I couldn't go wrong, right? :)

This are the chairs before.

Can you see that totally amazing very antique little cart behind the chair, what is it a shopping cart? I'll tell you that story soon!

I considered not to paint this chairs for a few seconds, but I couldn't resist the adventure of how to paint them and to see a big transformation.
I stayed again in my comfort zone, I know I should be more adventurous and try something else. But since those are the colors on the hutch, I decided to stick to that scheme. So I used ASCP (Annie Sloan Chalk Pain) Paris Gray for the base coat and I dried brush a coat ofASCP Old white on top of the Paris Gray.
I didn't do any distressing as that was happening as I was dry brushing them by itself. I finished them with a coat of dark wax.

Of course the fabric they came with wasn't going to work for me so I used  some fabric that I already have in my stash. I removed the existing fabric and used it as my template to cut the new fabric.

The fabric I used was plain linen, I kind of wanted the adventure and the transformation to go a bit farther. I have gorgeous blue and white curtains in the dining room so I decided to paint some blue stripes in the fabric emulating a grain sack to tie with the curtains.
This was a fun job that my little helper enjoyed doing with me!

And here is the end result!

What do you think?
Hope you enjoyed the makeover!!
Thanks for stopping by!
XOXO
